Who is responsible
Lai See Wise is an information site run by its founder, Nicolas. He is also the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

What we collect
When you browse the site: nothing that identifies you. We have no user accounts, no forms and no advertising or tracking cookies.
Visitor statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people read each page and where traffic comes from (search engine, other website). This tool sets no cookies, does not follow visitors across websites and builds no profiles. We only see overall numbers, never an individual person.
Technical data from our host: the site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare briefly processes your IP address and technical information (browser, page requested) to deliver pages and protect the site against attacks. We do not use this data to identify or profile you.
When you email us: we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we delete the exchange no later than 12 months after our last reply.
Links to financial institutions
Our tables link to institutions’ websites. Some are affiliate links: they let the institution or an affiliate network know you came from us, usually with a cookie placed on their site, not ours. What happens on those sites is governed by their own privacy policies.
We never receive your banking information or the content of your account application. A commission only tells us that an account was opened.
Where data is stored
Cloudflare and our email provider may process data outside Quebec, including in the United States. We chose well-established providers that apply appropriate security measures.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- ask whether we hold information about you, and get a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- withdraw your consent to its use.
Write to contact@laiseewise.com. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.
If this policy changes
If we ever add a newsletter or another tool that handles personal information, we will update this page before doing so, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
